In the tea card collecting community in Canada and the US, this set of Nabisco cards along with others shows up occasionally, mixed in with Red Rose tea cards. It was issued in Canada in 1962. The set is called Nature Untamed but you can also get away with calling it the set of Wild Life Cards. This relatively common set is represented by 24 cards issued in boxes of Shredded Wheat. Each card features an artistically drawn color image of a wild creature. It could be from the jungle, or desert or from deep in the sea. Anywhere in the world where nasty critters can roam.... The backs of the cards identify the creature depicted on the front. Descriptions are written in both French and English. The cards were distributed one-in-a-box or two-in-a-box, depending on purchase size. 12 oz was one card and 18 oz was two cards. The box itself touts the ability to get 15 more by observing the end panel details. I'm not sure exactly what those details were... but I venture a guess further down this page. I've never seen an album for the cards or a wall chart. There is nothing about either on the box or cards. The overall print runs were smaller, just because of the lower population in Canada. Because of this the majority of all Canadian non sports cards are harder to come by. What do the cards look like?
Here is a card that represent the 24 card set. They are approximatly 1 7/16" x 2 3/4" per card. A nice graphic depicting
a creature and on the other side, text describing the naughty animal in both English and French. There is also a description of the critter
in Latin. Do you have a list of the different cards?
Sure, that can be done. Feel free to click the top and sort the list any way you want. If you see a link then there is a

What else do we know about the series?
It's Canadian, it's Nabisco, it's 24 cards... What we haven't seen is an album or a wall chart. But we have been lucky to
see an original box or two. Here are a couple of boxes from back in the day. Who knew they would survive all these years later. Not me! But
I sure am glad they do still exist. Here are two different box sizes..., 12 and 18 oz. Recall that the 12 oz. gets one card while the 18 oz. gets two.
There can be different pictures even within the same size box. Note that the box touts calling the series "Wild Life Cards" instead of
what the cards say is "Nature Untamed".
I bet there are some nice magazine ads about the cards. If you ever run across an ad showing Nature Untamed, please let me know
and we'll put the ad up on this page. This is a great little set to collect. You can get the 24 cards and call it good. The cost of an empty box is insane, $200 to
$300. I'm happy with my complete set. You can keep the box ;-).
There was also a special offer on the box panel. It claimed you can get 15 Bonus cards (out of 24)
by doing something. I have tried to read the offer and I think it says to save six box tops and mail them in for the 15 cards but the quality
of the scan makes it difficult. If you have a better scan, please send it my way. We'd all like to see...
